openal soft how to record/save to a sound file (save to .wav file)

Basically, setup your  (in windows, %APPDATA%/.alsoft.ini file)

it also then reads

/etc/openal/alsoft.conf

then also

$HOME/.alsoftrc

anyway, set it up like

drivers=wave
[wave]
file = output.wav

(setting drivers=wave seems necessary…

then you have to call

alcOpenDevice( “Wave File Writer”) in the code

then run some snippet code like

http://cranialburnout.blogspot.com/2012/08/openal-soft-demonstration-of-binaural.html

and it will magically save it to that filename from the config file.
