can you mix GPL and closed source/proprietary/LGPL on an in-house non-distributed application

Appears that as long as you never “distribute” a program (for instance, a program that runs on *your* web server), then it appears that you *can* mix GPL with proprietary software/closed source, etc.  You just can’t release for instance the binaries without (possibly) having to release it all as GPL

pin it button (pinterest) does nothing when you click the red “pin it” button

Bad:

So turns out that if you embed the “pin it” button on a website, but *don’t* specify an image, pinterest happily pulls up a preview window for it–then doesn’t let you pin it–instead, the pin it button goes grey, with a red outline, and nothing happens–no error message is displayed.

Fix: always include some image in the pin it snipp

good (has the “media” specifier)

optiplex 740 pcie expansion slot

appears to be pcie 2.0, i.e. limited to 4 Gb/s, though it is “x16″ but apparently SATA controllers only run at “x1″

wait nix that: might be a 1.1ax16
