A new microprocessor controlled wave form and test generator would increase production capacity and accuracy. But all of the new features could overwhelm the calibration and test technicians. The adoption and correct use of this new and more accurate standard was an ideal task for training.
A training class was developed for the 45 technicians that would use this new test generator. The training was developed using the following steps:
An understanding of all of the available features of the generator was acquired.
The sizable feature list was compared to the needs of the current workflow taking into account the new production capacities of the generator.
The pared down list formed the basis of a 1 hour class providing pertinent information on the maintenance, setup and use of the most useful functions of the generator. Live demonstrations and interactive Q&A promoted higher competence.
